Farm Business Charity Sailing Regatta a great success
Published 22 June 2012 - 14:43 ![]() The 2012 Food & Farming Charity Regatta sailed out in brilliant sunshine with a record 23 boats competing for the Farm Business Charity Cup and the Gentlemen’s Cup. £4,101 was raised at the evening meal before race day, for our chosen charity the Not Forgotten Association, www.nfassociation.org. The Not Forgotten Association is a unique national tri-service charity which provides entertainment, leisure and recreation for the serving wounded and ex-service men and women with disabilities. One of whom attened the event and helmed Selkie the Farm Business boat to a win in race 1. A further £1,000 will be donated to the Demelza House Children’s Hospice by Farm Business magazine. There were some contentious moves by many of the boats this year and the competitive spirit was running high but the overall winner on board Fleur De Lis was the Kendalls PR crew well deserving of the cup for their consistent placing across the 3 races, and best-in-show for some very fetching stripy pink t-shirts! Well done Andrew. But the most outstanding crew rig had to be Tim Holt’s Bayer Crop Science crew in unmissable bright orange! Winners of the informal practice day race was the RW & LH Lumbers crew onboard Modernistic Lady. Winners on race day were the Farm Business crew on Selkie, The Jolley Rogers on D’Artagnan and Syngenta 2 crew on Pourquoi Pas. Winner of the Nufarm Cup was the Nufarm Agrovista crew on Creme De La Creme. Photos and the full results will shortly be on the Farm Business website on Monday as we await the official photos from Fairview.
