PAPERS30 June 2010 Chicken litter is much more valuable as a fertilizer than previously thought, according to an Agricultural Research Service (ARS) study showing its newfound advantages over conventional fertilizers. Litter is a mixture of chicken manure and sawdust or other bedding material. While many residents and campaigners believe the number of objections means everyone ‘knows that factory farming is wrong’, MPP says this figure does not represent Foston as a community and says that objections have come from all over the world, submitted by large organisations.
